Colorado allows 27% or more visible light transmission on the front side windows, so a legal front tint is lighter than most people expect. Rear side windows and the back glass can go darker, which is why factory glass on trucks and SUVs already looks dark.
That difference is exactly why ceramic film matters. Because heat rejection comes from the film's infrared performance rather than how dark it is, you can stay legal up front and still get a real drop in cabin temperature.
